The personaggi buffoneschi, the dramatis personae and their audience in the “theatrical” novellas of the "Decameron".

It is well-known that Boccaccio’s Decameron played a salient part in the development of Italian Renaissance comedy, as the theatrical character of many of its novellas is associated with their well-nigh ubiquitous comic nature, which is manifested in a variety of forms, such as aspects of farce or parody, a conspiratorial plot, qui pro quo, disguises and dressing-up games, and the ever-present verbal or situational beffa – rather complicated sometimes. In this article, I conduct a detailed analysis of the dramatic and theatrical content in three novellas: II 1 – very close to a mime, IX 5, the characters of which are more like the dramatis personae of a stage play, and V 8, which involves a genuine play arranged by the main character to make a woman to change her mind about rejecting him.È risaputo il ruolo del Decameron nello sviluppo della commedia italiana del Cinquecento, visto che la teatralità, per lo più legata al comico, costituisce una caratteristica importante di varie novelle e vi è presente in diverse forme, ad esempio: tono farsesco, intrigo, qui pro quo, travestimenti e la onnipresente beffa – verbale o situazionale – che a volte diventa piuttosto complicata. Nel contributo vengono sottoposte a un’analisi particolareggiata in chiave teatralizzante tre novelle: II1 che si avvicina a un mimo, IX 5 i cui personaggi si comportano da vere e proprie dramatis personae e V 8, dove abbiamo che fare con uno spettacolo allestito dal protagonista con l’obiettivo di far cambiare l’atteggiamento di una donna nei suoi confronti
